If you think you have a fake, or you have seen a fake, then read on...
Is it Fake?
Over the years we have worked very hard to design, develop and manufacture quality products right here in the Peak District National Park in Buxton, UK.
We're a family company, established in 1995 and still employ family and local talented people who we are very proud of.
Some counterfeit Peak products have appeared on the market and you need to know that they are NOT made or authorised by us.
You can purchase any product from wherever you choose of course, but we don't want you to inadvertently buy a counterfeit product if you do want the genuine article.

Our product features:
- Designed AND manufactured in the UK.
- 2 Year Warranty as standard, plus lifetime technical support from the actual designers and manufacturers.
- EVERY product is factory tested, calibrated and contains unique calibration settings for each and every product.
- Tested and verified to EMC, CE and UKCA standards.
- Includes a high quality printed User Guide book.
- Extra-flexible, fine stranded, test cables with gold plated probes.
- High quality front panel overlay that doesn't allow the backlight to bleed through.
- High quality Peak embossed ABS enclosure.
- Full traceability so we know exactly who carried out every step and where every component came from for every product.
- Lifetime update, calibration and repair services for all our products, even for products that we manufactured in 1995!
How can I be sure?
- Make sure you buy from us directly or from any of our amazing authorised Distribution Partners here.
- If you do that, then we GUARANTEE that you will have the genuine Peak product made by us. If you received a fake from any of our distribution partners then we'll swap it for the genuine article at no cost to you.
- If you're not sure, contact us here and we'll give you open and honest guidance.
What's the problem with fake Peak testers anyway?
Some counterfeits look remarkably good at first sight, but the overall quality is terrible. Here are some things to know.
- Poor quality front panel overlay that is blurry and lets the backlight bleed through the edges.
- Poor quality LCD module with small pixels and big gaps.
- Poor quality test leads and probes.
- Poor strain relief (if any).
- ZERO product support from the supplier/manufacturer. No ability to update, calibrate, repair or even seek advice from the supplier.
- No unique calibration constants, just "nominal" figures so there is no compensation for poor component tolerance/accuracy.
- Some component values are just plain wrong, so random ranges and measurements will be badly affected with no warning.
- Zero traceability.
Well, what should I do if I have one or if I've seen a fake?
If you can, return your fake item to the supplier you purchased it from (probably Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress etc) and request a full refund. Most customers around the world are protected by consumer law that allows for the return of items (usually within 14 days) for a full refund regardless of reason. Make sure you obtain proof of postage, proof of refund as well as your original purchase receipt. If you wish, you can tell the supplier that the product is defective, not fit for purpose, counterfeit or all of those things.
A full refund is your right.
Send us details of your purchase and refund and we'll provide you with a large discount code to order a genuine Peak product, so you won't lose out. You can send us details from here. We'll even throw in some other goodies and big discounts on all our other products.
If you're feeling extra cross about the fake product, if applicable, please submit a report to the selling platform (such as Ebay etc) to report the counterfeit listings and seller.
